Ready for Ginger's Permaculture Class

Here on Einstein Island, there is plenty of rain and plenty of mud. After a year of slogging around in the muck, I finally decided it was time to invest in some when-in-rome-looking farm/rain boots.

I'm registered for the Introduction to Permaculture Class at R-Evolution Gardens, a CSA here on the Island, this weekend, so I had to be ready to suit up. There's no guarantee it'll be dry for a hot second.

I headed over to one of the most greatest shops of awesomeness known to Einstein Island, Hal's Emporium.  I got these suckers for $19.99. Scoot over there for the last couple of pairs they have on hand.

There's even a tab on the back for slipping these slippery suckaz off before heading into your Fairy Cottage, yurt, or other humbode (humble abode).

Oh, fer cutes. I am so totally ready to learn how to be muddy.

Nordstrom sells something not nearly as recession chic for $125.

For more information on R-Evolution Garden's class that I'm getting all up into this weekend, see here.

Introduction to Coastal Permaculture
These last weeks have been challenging.  Massive earthquakes, nuclear meltdowns, political chaos and rising fuel costs. It can be a hard time to ponder the future and feel hopeful in the face of so much uncertainty.  That's why we are feel it is the right time to be offering a permaculture class for our community this coming Saturday, April 9th.  Permaculture- which is a word coined in the late 70's combining the ideas of perma, "permanent or sustainable"  with culture-  more specifically "agriculture."

I don't know if there are any more spots in the class, but times are getting challenging. If you're in Portland, join us for a weekend on Einstein Island and learn a thing or two about how amazing you are and how important your happiness is to your own Fantasy I-Land.

Hope to see you this weekend!
